Weekly Newsletter for The Freelancers: Here is the latest newsletter of the week starting on 7th October 2019.
Before I start, let me tell you about why Virtual Reality (VR) matters to you and me. However, it is clear that virtual reality start-ups do exist.
With computer technology and software virtual worlds can be created. In these virtual worlds you can have the combination of realistic images, sounds, touch and even smell. It is hard to believe, but it is true. These virtual worlds can seem real and increasingly so.
Then, a user is placed inside the environment. In this virtual world the users can interact with the world as if it was real. It takes entertainment, education, travel, psychotherapy to an entirely new level. The uses are only limited by your imagination.
Did you know that 8 of the top 10 tech companies in the world have invested in virtual and augmented reality? VR and AR are world changing technologies and there will be freelancers today earning money as vr software designers and vr writers.
This increasing popularity in many ways is a green signal for business enterprises. So, it is high time to incorporate this technology into your business. Just imagine, you are using VR technology for the presentation of your project to your potential customers and clients!
And for the new entrepreneurs it is an opportunity to initiate a start-up. There are several ideas where you can use VR technology. Parth Misra has written 4 virtual reality start-up ideas entrepreneurs for www.sitepoint.com which you can read here.

Creativity is work! Creative professional freelancers know this better than most people. However, sometimes the creative well from where all your ideas come from seems to dry up.
Nobody can be sure why this happens. Writers call this writers' block and, I guess, creative professionals could call this creativity block. Creativity block happens! For the freelancers that are trapped by creativity block must learn how to manage it because creativity makes them money.
"Try Again and Again" - we often love to advise others. But, trying in the wrong way will always yield no good results. Until you discover the mistakes you are making, you may feel that you are over.
You have tried all the possible ways and now you have nothing to do anymore. The question is, how do you overcome creativity block? Andy Miller knows about creativity block and has some tips in how to overcome it.
Andy Miller's article is entitled "What to do if your work isn't working" which he wrote for www.freshbooks.com and you can read it by clicking here.
Do you often face this situation that you have more and more on your To Do List than you could possibly complete? What do you do then? Work more and more to complete each item on time and blame yourself that you are not productive? Freelancers everywhere often face this productivity problem.
According to Tom Willis, working harder to be more productive is not the key to getting more work done. Rather, he insists on working smarter, not harder.
Working in a smarter way will automatically make you more productive and make you more satisfied at your freelance work. It will also provide you more time to relax and enjoy your life.

Freelancers' back or computer back is also known as the silent killer for sedentary workers. In fact, most of the rumoured ill health effects research has shown are true. A freelancer worker using a computer, especially writers, usually sit for hours on end and as a result it can cause severe health problems. Also, the devices we use emit radiation and glare continuously and affect our eyes.
Researchers are very concerned about the ill health effects of computers on sedentary workers. They are continually trying to find a way of overcoming these problems.
Researchers have found some ways and by following them you can reduce the possibility of being affected by those tools.
My personal tip is to be sure to have a stand-up desk. You can read my reasons why here.

Freelance workers are often creative workers! Bookkeeping is often an irksome chore. You might neglect the necessity of keeping all your earnings and expenses organized. But you will know its necessity if you receive an unexpected income tax bill!
Keeping all your financial information organized is also important to check the profitability of your freelance profession, to check the progress against achieving a milestone.
So, don't neglect this essential task. There are simple ways to make it easier for yourself. One of the most important steps has having the best accounting software suitable for you.
Crystalynn Shelton has written 6 Best accounting software for freelancers in 2019 for www.fitssmallbsiness.com which you can read here.
We are constantly searching for news articles and videos on skills development and inspiration for freelancers.
Each week we have decided to bring you the links to what we consider are the top three articles or videos. Here they are for this week:
There are now 5,000 skills in 90 categories that the digital economy can offer, according to Upwork's 2nd. Quarter 2019 Skills Index which you can read here.
Number three on the list is Volusion. If you are like me, you will probably want to know more about Volusion. I looked it up on Google of course and this is a what the company does here.
What is interesting about Upwork's list is that they are new digital skills and they are evolving very quickly.
Articles now on our website that are relevant to the outcome of new skills training are listed here:
The latest one is here:
The weekly AWS news video link to acloud.guru is here. They are the leading trainers globally for Amazon Web Services freelancers.
As discussed in previous newsletters we are focussing on the niche website in the future because it is producing better results i.e. sales.
There has been an interesting development in our Amazon niche website. We have found Google penalizes websites reviewing products based on features and benefits without actual product experience.
We have therefore changed our strategy to include guest posts and this is the first by Eli Owen: Eco-Friendly Interior Decor Ideas To Make Your Home Beautiful. We will let you know when another is posted. The goal is to increase traffic and diversify product promotion.
There have been approximately 40 Amazon product sales (across all our websites) in the past month due to the keyword research and skills of Mamun, my virtual assistant.
We have decided to expand our search for appropriate articles for freelancers about cybersecurity and online scams.
The latest Australian Government's ESafety Commissioner's article What is cyberstalking? which can be read here.
Robert Siciliano is an identity theft expert and consultant. He also runs a cyber security and fraud prevention website which you can see here.
