Weekly Newsletter for The Freelancers: Here is the latest newsletter of the week starting on 14th October 2019.
What is our primary motive of having a website? Sharing information to the audience and sometimes making some sales, isn’t it? Brand search engine optimization is critical.
But, how can it possible, if you don’t have targeted organic traffic to your site? The main reason of not having traffic is either you follow a poor search engine optimization (SEO) or your competitors adopted more effective SEO strategies.
So, for both reasons, you must improve your brand’s SEO to ensure the targeted income from your web business.
Nathan Meunier has written the evergreen article How to improve your brand’s SEO for the www.Upwork.com blog. It is well worth the read because it will help improve your income. You can read Nathan's article by following this link: https://www.upwork.com/blog/2016/12/improve-brands-seo/
“There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures.”– Josiah Gilbert Holland
Are you worried about your writing? Are your articles not getting enough shares in social media, though your topic is very interesting?
Okay, it is time for a new perspective. Get inspired in your writing and enhance your freelancing career with this simple trick.
Did you know, people like and share image quotes a lot? When they see an image quote, they are more likely to share it in their Facebook or Twitter profile or Pinterest board. So, you absolutely should add quotes in your articles. They should be in image format!
There is a guideline I have found while researching this subject. Marianne Manthey has written More shares on social media. 9 Tools to help you for www.writetodone.com and you can read it by clicking here.
Luckily, you don’t need to know photoshop for this. There are many tools to make it easier for you. In the article by Marianne, she explains how to create image quotes easily.
What is your plan to recover your losses if you have a period of sickness when you can't work or when it is a slow month with low income? In one of our previous newsletters, I’ve advised you to create an emergency fund to even out your cash flow. Creating digital info products is another great idea.
Creating something informative, problem solving or helpful, (i.e. An eBook, application or a video tutorial on your freelancing services) for your audience or potential customers. This is a product or service that you can share at a premium price. This is the main reason for creating digital info products.
Michelle Nickolaisen for www.sitepoint.com an article entitled How to earn passive income by creating digital info products you can read the article by clicking here.
As we always say, “Health is Wealth”, but we often forget this when we are too busy with our work. Even, after getting a notification alert regarding the expiration of your health insurance, there are people who find the notification irrelevant to their work!
Successful freelancers are seldom not busy with tasks for their clients. They are always under pressure. Are you one of those busy people I’m talking about who don’t get time to take care of their health?
I’ve read an article where the writer has shared what happened to him after neglecting a minor health issue. The article was written by Jordan Freeman and is entitled Prioritizing your health in your work-life balance. The article appeared www.huffingtonpost.com and you can read it by clicking here.
There is a global trend in developing countries of the rising cost of health care as the population ages. It is not an easy decision to make whether to take out health insurance when you retire, especially if your finances are under pressure.
The health care systems vary from country to country, but what is clear that freelancers have the advantage in that they can retire part-time and supplement their income. This not only makes their retirement savings last longer, but it also strengthens their budget to help cover increased costs relating to health care.
In Australia, the Australian Consumers Association website www.choice.com.au had an article written by Daniel Graham entitled Will private health insurance save you money? And you can read it by clicking here.
Personally, I prefer private health insurance. However, what is clear is that when you are approaching retirement (and before) you need to have a good understanding of your country’s health care system.
We are constantly searching for news articles and videos on skills development and inspiration for freelancers.
Each week we have decided to bring you the links to what we consider are the top three articles or videos. Here they are for this week:
There are now 5,000 skills in 90 categories that the digital economy can offer, according to Upwork's 1st. Quarter 2019 Skills Index which you can read here.
Number seven on the list is Google App Engine. If you are like me, you will probably want to know more about Google App Engine. I looked it up on Wikipedia of course and this is what the company does here. What is interesting about Upwork’s list is that there are new digital skills and they are evolving very quickly. Innovation and technology are very important to countries.
Articles now on our website that are relevant to the outcome of new skills training are listed here:
The latest one is here:
The weekly AWS news video link to acloud.guru is here.

As discussed in previous newsletters we are focussing on the niche website in the future because it is producing better results i.e. sales.
There has been an interesting development in our Amazon niche website. We have found Google penalizes websites reviewing products based on features and benefits without actual product experience.
We have therefore changed our strategy to include guest posts and this is the first by Eli Owen: Eco-Friendly Interior Decor Ideas To Make Your Home Beautiful. We will let you know when another is posted. The goal is to increase traffic and diversify product promotion.
There have been 40 Amazon product sales (across all our websites) in the past month due to the keyword research and skills of Mamun, my virtual assistant.
We have decided to expand our search for appropriate articles for freelancers about cybersecurity and online scams.
The latest Australian Government’s ESafety Commissioner’s article What is online abuse? which can be read here.
